Types of Internships

The Huntsville Museum of Art offers several types of internships: Special Events, Campaign/ Development and Public Relations/Membership. These internships are offered during the school year, coinciding with the semester system. Internships are ideal for those students who require internship or practicum credits, but students need not receive credit if they do not wish to do so.

The Museum encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines to apply. No stipends are available. Descriptions are to follow.

Special Events (Gala)

Gala interns require a minimum commitment of 3 days per week and are unpaid. Duties include accounting, customer service, reservations, data entry, and spreadsheet creation and maintenance.

Public Relations/ Membership

Public Relations/ Membership interns require a minimum commitment of 2 days a week minimum. Duties would include writing press releases and promotional materials, general filing, grants research and co-writing, pitching media and data entry.
