Families and children are invited to participate in a range of programs especially designed with younger visitors in mind. The Drop-In & CREATE Saturdays offer fun, interactive art making activities for families with children ages 3 and up that will sure to spark one’s creativity! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

March 25: Color Whirl
Learn about color by creating a color wheel spin top. Watch primary colors optically mix together to create secondary colors. Explore the YAM 2017: Exhibition for Youth Art Month.
April 22: Brilliant Blossoms
Make your own colorful collage using art tissue paper and crayons. Discover the vibrant flower paintings in Encounters: Beth Edwards exhibition.
May 13: Jammin’ Art: Musical Masterpieces!
Celebrate music of the south as seen in the exhibition Our Living Past: A Platinum Portrait of Music Makers by making your own musical artwork. Create a cool guitar out of paper and 3-D elements inspired by the artist Pablo Picasso.
In the Museum Academy, art classes are offered weekdays and Saturdays for children ages 3 and up. No prior experience is necessary to enroll and all materials are provided for the children’s classes. High school and adult art classes and workshops are also available.
