From the towns of Provence to the ports of North Africa, father and son painters Antoine Ponchin and Jos-Henri Ponchin captured the changing light and timeless beauty of the world around them.
Trained in the tradition of French Impressionism, Antoine infused his luminous landscapes of France, Tunisia, and Vietnam with color and clarity. Jos-Henri followed in his father’s footsteps, offering bold, expressive views of quaint villages, serene harbors, and sun-washed countryside scenes.

Now reinstalled, this new gallery brings together the Ponchins’ evocative works with selections by American artists similarly inspired by European and North African settings. Through this transatlantic lens, A Transatlantic Journey explores the shared language of landscape painting—one that crosses borders and generations to reveal the universal power of place and atmosphere.
