What type of skates are available?
Hockey skates.
What size skates are available?
The skates range from toddler size 7 to adult size 14. We do not have half sizes.

Is there a minimum age to skate?
We do not have a minimum age for skating, but we urge parents to use their best judgement based on the child's skating ability. Skate rental begins at toddler size 7.
What are the hours of operation?
The hours for Skating in the Park can be found in the calendar on the main webpage. Rink hours change when Huntsville City Schools are closed and when there is inclement weather. Follow the Facebook and Instagram pages, @Skatinginthepark, for the most up-to-date rink hours and special events.
Can we leave and come back without charge on the same day?
Yes. Once you have paid for admission to Skating in the Park, you will receive a wristband that will be good for the entire day.
Are food vendors onsite?
Yes. Iceworks is the rink-side vendor. Their menu is posted on the main webpage for Skating in the Park.
Is there a place for spectators?
Yes. Benches are located in multiple areas around the ice skating rink for people to watch the skaters. There are also warming stations provided.
Are there restrooms?
Yes. There are portable restrooms available on site near the ice skating rink, generously provided by the City of Huntsville. Ice skates are not allowed inside the restrooms.
Is the ice real?
Yes. We use a mat system for the rink floor that is charged with liquid coolant for the ice making process. Once the mats are in place, a skim coat of water is sprayed onto the mats. The ice is then painted white before layering the ice with more water. The floor is connected to [...]
