DESCRIPTION:Opening Day\nA World Within: Art by Women from the Permanent Collection\nSaturday\, August 20 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.\nView the Museum’s newest exhibition\, A World Within: Art by Women from the Permanent Collection. \nUtilizing works found within the Museum’s acclaimed permanent collection\, A World Within presents a diverse array of art by women that explores a range of media and subject matter with broad variation in style and method. \nTraditionally accepted feminine art practices are being embraced\, ignored\, or transformed\, as each artist sees fit\, across the spectrum of women’s art. Accordingly\, this exhibition examines some of the ways that female artists evolve their chosen mediums\, contemplate the world\, and represent themselves and other women. Throughout the exhibition there is a subtle duality at play\, encompassing both what is portrayed and the imagined world of the artist’s creation. The viewer is thus invited to consider the works on display in a complex way\, and to make unexpected connections throughout the galleries.

DESCRIPTION:CREATE Saturdays\nSaturday\, August 20 | 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.\nFREE\nFamilies and children are invited to participate in a range of programs especially designed with younger visitors in mind. CREATE Saturdays offer fun\, interactive art making activities for families with children ages 3 and up that will sure to spark one’s creativity! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. There will be two sessions\, one at 11 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. with each session lasting 45 minutes. \nReservations will be required on a first come\, first-served basis. Each participant – parent/guardian and child – must be registered prior to program date. Space is limited! \n\n \nCREATE Saturdays\nSelect Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. \nReservations will be required on a first come\, first-served basis.
