Students will explore oil painting techniques\, including brushwork\, value\, and color. Referencing the work of Monet and Renoir\, students will work to develop skilled painting of textures and surfaces while exploring use of light\, shape\, and form. Space is limited to 8 students.

DESCRIPTION:Accessible Art Works Docent-Led Tour\nDeaf/Hard of Hearing Session\nWednesday\, April 12 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.\nExhibition Tour of Encounters: Courtney Egan\nOur docents are leading a tour for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing through our Accessible Art Works program. The private tour is Wednesday\, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sessions fill up quickly\, so it is strongly recommended that attendees pre-register for each session. Sign up online at the button below or by contacting Audrey Creel\, the Docent/Tour Programs Coordinator at acreel@hsvmuseum.org or 256-535-4350 ext. 223. \n\nREGISTER ONLINE \n\nThe Accessible Art Works program provides a private\, docent-led tour of specific art pieces from a current exhibition\, followed by an art-making session led by a trained instructor. Accessible Art Works sessions are offered on a monthly basis. The sessions for the Blind/Low Vision will be verbally descriptive and contain tactile components. The Deaf/Hard of Hearing session will have an ASL Qualified Interpreter. We are pleased to offer the Accessible Art Workshop free of charge to participants and a companion\, thanks to a generous grant from the Lowe Foundation and a partnership with the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB). \nHMA is committed to advancing a diverse and inclusive space and community by creating and implementing accessibility initiatives. We believe art and public spaces should be accessible to all.
