At 6 p.m.\, Alan Little will perform in the galleries. \nAbout Alan Little: \nAlan Little is a singer-songwriter and lifelong Huntsvillian who has played music as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist for over 30 with various different bands as well as a solo artist. Alan has collaborated and recorded with many different local\, regional and national artists in his musical career. He’s the frontman of Little and the Giants and the drummer/percussionist for The Silver Silo’s. Alan’s most recent music project\, “While They Were Sleeping\,” is available on all streaming platforms.

DESCRIPTION:Origins and Explanation of Masonic Ritual and Symbols\nPresentation by Michael Feld\nThursday\, June 15 | 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. in the Great Hall\nFree to attend\, but $5 After 5 admission is required to enter the galleries. \nJoin HMA and Michael Feld for this unique opportunity to learn about the origin of Masonic symbols as described in the Masonic Lectures of the Grand Lodge of Alabama Free and Accepted Masons. The history of the origin of the lectures explains why the explanation of the symbols is virtually the same throughout English Freemasonry. A recitation of the non-secret portions of the Entered Apprentice Lecture will be given. This presentation is part of educational programming in conjunction with the Mystery and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art from the American Folk Art Museum exhibition. \nMystery and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art from the American Folk Art Museum was organized by the American Folk Art Museum\, New York\, NY from the Kendra and Allan Daniel Collection and is toured by International Arts & Artists\, Washington\, DC. \n   \nAbout Michael Feld: \nMichael Feld\, Chairman of the Grand Lodge of Alabama Free and Accepted Masons Public Relations and Education Committee\nPast Master of Helion Lodge #1\nPast District Lecturer of Madison County\n33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason\nKnight York Cross of Honor\nGrand Governor of Alabama for the York Rite Sovereign College of North America \nMr. Feld was born in Decatur\, Alabama and grew up in Huntsville\, Alabama. He is a graduate of Lee High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and MBA from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He currently resides in Madison\, Alabama and is married to his wife Jenni with whom he has two daughters. \nHe was initiated at Helion Lodge #1 in November 1998 and raised to the degree of Master Mason in July 1999. He served as Worshipful Master of Helion Lodge in 2009. In 2012\, he was the first Alabama recipient of the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons International Ritual Award. In 2014\, he received the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Alabama Fred W. Vaughn Masonic Award for Community Service. He also received the Knights Templar Cross of Honor from the Grand Commandery of Alabama. In 2015\, he received the Cryptic Mason of the Year Award from the General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons International. In 2017\, he received the Companion of the Secret Vault honor. He served on the Ritual Committee for the General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons International. He has published several articles in the Ad Lucem\, the Royal Arch Magazine\, and the Knights Templar magazine.
