DESCRIPTION:The Huntsville Museum of Art is excited to announce a new education initiative for high school students. Sketching in the Galleries will provide a unique opportunity to introduce learning and engagement in the Museum galleries. \nExplore visual expression through drawing in the galleries from works of art with the guidance of an artist/instructor. The sessions will meet once a month January through May on a Thursday from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Each session will focus new drawing techniques/elements of art and an exhibition in the Museum. DESCRIPTION:Girl Scouts can earn art badges by participating in hands-on activities on this fun day. Learn about the visual arts while earning a Badge or Patch: \nDaisy: Art & Design Badge\nBrownie: Art & Design Badge\nJunior: Art & Design Badge\nCadette: Art Museum Visit Fun Patch \nCreativity & Imagination: Mixed Media Masterpieces!\nSaturday\, April 6\, 2024 \n \nSee registration below! \nEach two-hour session includes a docent-led tour and a still life (flowers/butterflies) drawing and painting (mixed media) art activity program. \nGirl Scouts learn about the elements of art – color\, line\, shape\, and texture while they are developing their own artistic vision. Media include pencil\, watercolor and other materials for embellishment. \nWe will tour the Museum exhibition\, American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection. Materials provided. \nA confirmation letter will be sent by email upon receipt of registration. Sessions are filled on a first-come\, first-served basis! \nSession I: Daisy\, Brownie & Junior Girl Scouts • 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.\nSession II: Brownie\, Junior & Cadette Girl Scouts • 1:00-3:00 p.m. \nFees: $30 per Girl Scout (includes Badge or Patch)/$25 per Girl Scout Troop Leader/Assistant (adult) \nRegister here: Girl Scout Art Museum Day Program Creativity & Imagination: Mixed Media Masterpieces! \nDue to program capacity\, adults will be limited to Volunteer Essentials ratios. \nQuestions? Contact Laura E.
