DESCRIPTION:Accessible Art Works Docent-Led Tour\nBlind/Visually Impaired Session\nWednesday\, May 10 | 2 – 3:30 p.m.\nExhibition Tour of Mystery and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art from the American Folk Art Museum\nOur docents are leading a tour for the Blind and Visually Impaired through our Accessible Art Works program. The private tour is Wednesday\, May 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sessions fill up quickly\, so it is strongly recommended that attendees pre-register for each session. Sign up online at the button below or by contacting Audrey Creel\, the Docent/Tour Programs Coordinator at acreel@hsvmuseum.org or 256-535-4350 ext. 223. \n\nREGISTER ONLINE \n\nThe Accessible Art Works program provides a private\, docent-led tour of specific art pieces from a current exhibition\, followed by an art-making session led by a trained instructor. Accessible Art Works sessions are offered on a monthly basis. The sessions for the Blind/Low Vision will be verbally descriptive and contain tactile components. The Deaf/Hard of Hearing session will have an ASL Qualified Interpreter. We are pleased to offer the Accessible Art Workshop free of charge to participants and a companion\, thanks to a generous grant from the Lowe Foundation and a partnership with the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB). \nHMA is committed to advancing a diverse and inclusive space and community by creating and implementing accessibility initiatives. We believe art and public spaces should be accessible to all.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Huntsville Museum of Art Docents for Sit with Me Saturdays! \n  \nSaturday\, January 3 \n10 a.m. – 12 p.m. \n  \nThis program is dedicated to slow looking and mindfulness. During this time you will find our Docents stationed by various works of art\, ready to answer any questions you have about the piece. On the first Sunday of every month\, docents will be stationed by a selected work of art to guide visitors through looking at the work\, answering questions and providing additional details and facts about the piece. \nVisitors are encouraged to ask questions and interact with as many pieces and docents as they want.
