DESCRIPTION:Fine art\, live music\, delicious food\, great crowd…Each year\, the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild’s annual fundraiser\, UNFRAMED\, provides guests with a fun and unforgettable evening! \n\n \nUNFRAMED 2019: The Eve of Prohibition \n\nAnd\, the Guild’s 2020 UNFRAMED event will be no exception.  On the evening of Thursday\, January 23\, 2020\, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. the Guild invites you to A Night in New Orleans.  Enjoy everything there is to love about the ‘Crescent City’ Mardi Gras style. \nUNFRAMED: A Night in New Orleans will be everything you love about the ‘Big Easy!’  You will feel like you have stepped into the French Quarter from the moment you enter through the museum doors.  The event will feature locally made spirits\, Pat O’Brien’s hurricanes\, French wine\, and local craft beer.  Have a seat and relax outside of Cafe Du Monde to enjoy some beignets with Coffee and Chicory while you listen to the lively sound of zydeco and jazz music emanating from our live band located in our very own version of Preservation Hall.  Dive into the most delicious Southern and Cajun fare before heading over to partake in the silent and live auctions.  Mardi Gras masks\, boas\, and beads are highly encouraged to accent your snazziest cocktail attire. Previous events\, Folk Fusion\, Southern Blues\, and Foothills to Fine Art sold out quickly!  Don’t miss your chance to attend another premiere event. \nThursday\, April 4\, 2019\n6:30 – 9:30 p.m. \nWhat can guests expect?\nLive Music\nRegional Cuisine & Libations\nSilent & Live Auction \nThe Guild has been a major supporter of the Huntsville Museum of Art for over 50 years and has provided over two and a half million dollars in direct funding from Guild sponsored events such as the Annual Wine Weekend\, Leaves of Glass\, Folk Fusion\, Southern Blues\, and Foothills to Fine Art. \nAs part of the statewide celebration of Alabama’s bicentennial\, Our Shared Heritage will present important works by Alabama artists from the Museum’s permanent collection. The works will span the early 19th through early 21 centuries\, and include early Alabama portraits by William Frye\, Nicola Marschall\, William Halsey\, and Adrian Thompson; mid-20th century paintings\, photographs and works on paper by Anne Wilson Goldthwaite\, William Christenberry\, Kathryn Tucker Windham\, and Richard Zoellner; and contemporary works of art by Gary Chapman\, Evan Wilson\, Helen Vaughn\, David Parrish\, and Clifton Pearson\, among others. The exhibition will comprise two parts\, one historical\, and the other contemporary. A fully illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition to provide a permanent record. Organized by HMA.
