DESCRIPTION:April 2 \n  \nThoughtful Thursday Docent-Led Tour \nPhil Weaver\, Guitar \n\n\n  \n\nSelection of Wine 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.\nTour & Live Music: 6 p.m.\nMembers: Free | Non-members: $5\n\nJoin us for a relaxing Thursday evening at the Huntsville Museum of Art! Enjoy $5 admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.\, and explore the latest exhibitions or revisit your favorite pieces from our permanent collection. \nGuests aged 21+ can purchase a glass of wine selected by Church Street Wine Shoppe\, adding the perfect touch to your museum experience. \n  \nThoughtful Thursdays is an engaging\, interactive art experience to promote mindfulness and discovery. On the first Thursday of each month\, a docent will lead a tour highlighting unexpected connections between works on display in the galleries. \n  \nPhil Weaver: Classical guitarist performing for over 30 years in the United States and abroad. He was the first guitarist to be awarded an individual artist’s fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts\, and he is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at UAH\, where he directs the\nguitar program. He performed his European debut with solo concerts for the Nonsuch Guitar Society in London and the Old Malthouse Music Society in Sawbridgeworth. In addition to solo work\, he has performed concertos with orchestra and small ensembles including instrumentalists and vocalists. His collaborations with pianist Ingrid von Spakovsky include a CD on ACA Digital that received rave reviews in Fanfare and 20th Century Guitar magazines\, interviews on BBC York and Temple Public Radio\, a tour of England\, a New York City recital debut\, and performances throughout the U.S. Their CD Consonare has been broadcasted on New York City’s NPR affiliate WNYC\, WABE Atlanta\, and WLRH Huntsville.
