SUMMARY:Coming Home
DESCRIPTION:Coming Home explores the layered and evolving meanings of home through the work of three contemporary artists with deep ties to Huntsville\, Alabama—LeXander Bryant\, Jahni Moore\, and Toyin Ojih Odutola.\nThrough painting\, photography\, and mixed media\, the exhibition reflects on how memory\, experience\, and imagination shape our sense of belonging and place.\nRather than offering a single or nostalgic view\, Coming Home presents home as fluid\, both physical and emotional\, rooted and reimagined. Each artist approaches this theme through a distinct visual language\, weaving constructed narratives that speak to personal and collective identity.\nAcross the exhibition\, the figure serves as a point of connection\, embodying the complexity of return\, displacement\, and renewal. \nTogether\, these artists trace the tension between longing and belonging\, revealing home as something continually made and remade. \nUltimately\, Coming Home invites reflection on what it means to find\, leave\, or reclaim home.\nIs it a place on a map\, a feeling carried within us\, or a story we continue to tell?

SUMMARY:WARHOL: film\, fashion\, photography
DESCRIPTION:Step the dazzling universe of Andy Warhol—a place where art and celebrity collide. \n\n\nWARHOL: film\, fashion\, photography presents an expansive look at one of the most influential artists of the 20th century\, featuring more than 150 works that reveal how Warhol shaped—and was shaped by—the visual culture of his time. \nThe exhibition brings together iconic imagery and rarely seen material\, including Warhol’s celebrated Polaroid portraits of cultural luminaries. Notable screenprints of enduring icons such as Marilyn Monroe\, Liza Minnelli\, Judy Garland\, Grace Jones\, John Wayne\, and the unmistakable Campbell’s Soup Can anchor the exhibition\, offering a powerful view on fame\, repetition\, and mass media. \nFashion plays a central role in Warhol’s creative universe\, and the exhibition highlights his deep engagement with style and design. On view are early fashion illustrations from the 1950s: whimsical\, hand-drawn works that reveal the foundations of Warhol’s artistic vision. Though less widely known than his later silkscreen prints\, these illustrations were crucial to his early success and mark the beginning of his transformation into the cultural figure known simply as “Andy Warhol.” The exhibition also includes couture dresses by celebrated designers such as Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) and Halston\, reflecting Warhol’s collaborations with and influence on the fashion world. \nFilm and photography further illuminate Warhol’s creative orbit. The exhibition will include a viewing of Poor Little Rich Girl (1965)\, starring Edie Sedgwick\, alongside striking photographic portraits and behind-the-scenes images by Stephen Shore\, Nat Finkelstein\, David McCabe\, Billy Name\, Christopher Makos\, and Evelyn Hofer. Together\, these works offer rare glimpses into Warhol’s Factory and the vibrant community of artists\, performers\, and tastemakers who surrounded him. \nSpanning illustration\, film\, photography\, fashion\, and printmaking\, WARHOL: film\, fashion\, photography captures the full scope of Warhol’s creative vision. Immersive and provocative\, the exhibition invites visitors to experience a world where the boundaries between art and life dissolve—and where everyone\, if only for a moment\, can be a star. \n\n\n\n\nThis exhibition is organized by the Huntsville Museum of Art with support from Art Bridges. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEXHIBITION SPONSORS \n\n\nChampion: The Olin King Family Charitable Fund\nPresident’s Circle: Sally and Bob Arthur\nArtist’s Circle: Mark Ardin and Leslie Chittam\nAdditional Support: Alabama State Council on the Arts; The Huntsville Museum of Art Guild
