She is a registered nurse who found art to be her true calling. A student of Russian artist Max Heldman\, her travels to Russia and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg were inspirational to her painting. Her works range from sepia tones to vibrant colors. She has a home and art studio on a 60-acre retreat in Northeast Alabama. She is a member of several art organizations including Oil Painters of America and Portrait Society of America. She has been featured in art publications such as American Art Collector\, Art and Antiques\, Southern Accents and Veranda. Her works are part of both private and public collections throughout the United States\, Canada\, South America and Europe. DESCRIPTION:CLA Cristallerie – Lamp with fish\, circa 1927-1930\, Press-molded glass on fabricated metal base\, 8 1/4 x 9 x 5 in. \nCharacterized by smooth lines\, geometric shapes\, and bright colors\, the Art Deco glass movement began\, in part\, as a reaction against the elaborate and ornate style of Art Nouveau in the late 19th century. Art Deco Glass from the Huchthausen Collection includes over 100 works in glass from the collection of studio glass artist David Huchthausen. The exhibition features early 20th-century glass by iconic Art Deco studios such as René Lalique\, Daum Frères\, Pierre d’Avesn\, Charles Schneider\, Muller Frères\, Marius-Ernest Sabino\, Steuben Glass Works\, and many others. DESCRIPTION:Animal Tales Camp: Ages 5 – 7\nAnna Sue Courtney and Kimberly Hart \nJune 22 – June 26 \n9 a.m. – 3 p.m. \n$200 Members | $225 Non- Members \nRegister for camp\n\nCome on an adventure through the Museum and explore animals in some of the Museum’s most beloved works of art! Artwork will be inspired by all kind of animals\, both real and imagined. Projects include papier-mâché figures\, cut paper designs\, and roaring masks. Media include markers\, water based paint\, oil pastel and more. Space is limited to 12 students. \nEach student attending a full-day camp will need to bring his/her own lunch and drink. Please not nut products. Students attending a half-day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.) or full-day camp ( 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) will need to bring a morning snack and drink. T-shirt included with each art camp fee. Otherwise\, a t-shirt purchase option is available for $6 each. T-shirts must be ordered at least two weeks prior to the first class date. Please contact the Education Department to order t-shirts at 256.535.6372. \nEvery art camp has exciting hands-on activities including: Games and art making. Explore many different areas of the Museum through gallery visits of exhibitions and the Stender Family Interactive Education Galleries – ART LAB and A Walk Through Time.
