For the past few years he has been the guitar player in Huntsville based rock group Black Market Salesmen. He has worked with Grammy nominated musician/producer Joey Huffman. Shane opened for artists such as Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle and was featured in international magazines Relix and Classic Rock. In 2020 Shane got a few friends together to work on solo material and recorded his self-titled album. Since then they have been performing as the Shane Davis Group. Shane’s music has been compared to Neil Young\, Ryan Adams\, Townes Van Sandt and The Grateful Dead.

He was the first guitarist to be awarded an individual artist’s fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts\, and he is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at UAH\, where he directs the guitar program. He performed his European debut with solo concerts for the Nonsuch Guitar Society in London and the Old Malthouse Music Society in Sawbridgeworth. In addition to solo work\, he has performed concertos with orchestra and small ensembles including instrumentalists and vocalists. His collaborations with pianist Ingrid von Spakovsky include a CD on ACA Digital that received rave reviews in Fanfare and 20th Century Guitar magazines\, interviews on BBC York and Temple Public Radio\, a tour of England\, a New York City recital debut\, and performances throughout the U.S. Their CD Consonare has been broadcasted on New York City’s NPR affiliate WNYC\, WABE Atlanta\, and WLRH Huntsville.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Stetson University in 2007 and a Master’s degree in Management from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2013 and was inducted into Delta Mu Delta\, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. \nMatthew was an elementary school music teacher for three years in Pensacola\, Florida. He has served as Music Director and Music Chairman for the Athens Ward\, Madison Stake\, and Stuttgart Germany International Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He has performed with the Pensacola Opera company\, Opera Huntsville\, the Huntsville Community Chorus Association\, the Huntsville Christmas Festival Choir\, and the Huntsville Patriotic Choir featuring the Army Materiel Command Band. \n  \n \nCelese Sanders: Celese Sanders is a soprano based in Huntsville. She sings any chance she gets and is currently singing with Rocket Harmony\, Huntsville Community Chorus\, and as a staff singer at Huntsville First United Methodist Church. She has also performed with many local organizations in opera and musical theater. Some of her most notable roles include Despina in Cosi fan tutte\, Miss Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief\, and Fiona in Shrek. She is a blessed mother of three children who support her and make her heart happy. \n  \nJeremy Howe is a tuba player and bass-baritone vocalist with over 30 years of professional experience performing throughout the world. During his twenty-year career as an Army Musician he performed for presidents\, on National Public Radio\, CNN\, and in more parades and ceremonies than he can count. While serving in assignments throughout the United States and overseas\, he has performed with and led a wide variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles ranging from traditional brass quintets and jazz bands to a funk-rock band “Rendezvous Groove” who was a featured ensemble at the 2011 W.C. Handy Festival in Florence\, Alabama\, and a barbershop quartet “7-Ball”\, which won the Army-wide “Ensemble of the Year” award for 2011.

DESCRIPTION:October 25\, 2024 – January 12\, 2025 | Huth\, Boeing\, Salmon & Haws Galleries\n\nClearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass is a first-of-its-kind\, groundbreaking exhibition giving broader and overdue recognition to a wide range of contemporary Native American and indigenous\, Pacific Rim artists working in glass. \nThe stunning art in the exhibition embodies the intellectual content of Native traditions\, newly illuminated by the unique properties that can only be achieved by working with glass. Whether reinterpreting traditional stories and designs in the medium of glass\, or expressing contemporary issues affecting tribal societies\, Native glass artists have created a content-laden body of work. These artists have melded the aesthetics and properties inherent in glass art with their cultural ways of knowing. \nA secondary focus of the exhibition—a historical perspective—presents the fascinating story of how glass art came to Indian country\, mainly through the pioneering work of Lloyd Kiva New (Cherokee)\, a founder of the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA)\, and of Dale Chihuly\, who taught the first Native artists to work in glass. While Chihuly is not Native\, he has long wielded a major influence on American Indian glass artists\, and his own art has (in turn) taken inspiration from the designs and shapes of Native basketry and textiles. Focusing on regional floral landscapes\, Alan will teach students how to create a watercolor from dark to light using wet and dry-brush techniques\, how to utilize lighting and distance to create your composition and applying detail in the foreground. \nAt the end of this two-day workshop\, participants will have a finished composition of their own. \n  \nA painter known for his watercolor technical ability\, sensitive and thought-provoking paintings\, Shuptrine has extended his reputation from a renowned master craftsman and water gilder to a nationally acclaimed watercolorist. His paintings are collected nationally\, in both corporate and private collections. DESCRIPTION:Girl Scout Art Museum Day \nCreativity & Imagination: Storytelling through Art! \nSaturday\, November 16\, 2024 \n  \nGirl Scouts can earn art badges by participating in hands-on activities on this fun day. Learn about the visual arts while earning a Badge or Patch— \nDaisy: Art & Design Badge \nBrownie: Art & Design Badge \nJunior: Art and Design Badge \nCadette: Art Museum Visit Fun Patch. \nEach two-hour session includes a docent-led tour and a mixed media work of art using drawing and painting techniques inspired by the glass artwork in the Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass exhibition. \nGirl Scouts learn about the elements of art – color\, line\, shape\, and texture while they are developing their own artistic vision. Media include pencil\, watercolor and other materials for embellishment. Materials provided. \nQuestions?
