For the 2019 Venice Biennial\, Agha was included in a collateral event\, She Persists\, with 22 contemporary feminist artists. The retrospective Interwoven will travel to Wichita Museum of Art and two other museums in 2025/2026. Agha attended the Joan Mitchell Center Residency in New Orleans\, LA. Her work has been collected by both institutions and private collectors\, nationally and internationally. \n

Enjoy $5 admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.\, and explore the latest exhibitions or revisit your favorite pieces from our permanent collection. \nGuests aged 21+ can purchase a glass of wine selected by Church Street Wine Shoppe\, adding the perfect touch to your museum experience. \n  \nThoughtful Thursdays is an engaging\, interactive art experience to promote mindfulness and discovery. On the first Thursday of each month\, a docent will lead a tour highlighting unexpected connections between works on display in the galleries. \n  \nPhil Weaver: Classical guitarist performing for over 30 years in the United States and abroad. He was the first guitarist to be awarded an individual artist’s fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts\, and he is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at UAH\, where he directs the\nguitar program. He performed his European debut with solo concerts for the Nonsuch Guitar Society in London and the Old Malthouse Music Society in Sawbridgeworth. In addition to solo work\, he has performed concertos with orchestra and small ensembles including instrumentalists and vocalists. His collaborations with pianist Ingrid von Spakovsky include a CD on ACA Digital that received rave reviews in Fanfare and 20th Century Guitar magazines\, interviews on BBC York and Temple Public Radio\, a tour of England\, a New York City recital debut\, and performances throughout the U.S. Their CD Consonare has been broadcasted on New York City’s NPR affiliate WNYC\, WABE Atlanta\, and WLRH Huntsville.

Enjoy $5 admission from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.\, and explore the latest exhibitions or revisit your favorite pieces from our permanent collection. \nGuests aged 21+ can purchase a glass of wine selected by Church Street Wine Shoppe\, adding the perfect touch to your museum experience. \n  \nPrevailing Winds Flute Ensemble: A community flute choir from the Huntsville-Madison-TN-Valley area. They perform using all the members of the flute family – piccolo\, flute\, alto flute\, bass flute\, and contra-bass flute (the only one in Huntsville!). Their community group has been together for over 15 years now\, we’re an inclusive all volunteer organization\, and perform locally for public events as well as for paid private events. Our members range from college students to retirees and include students as well as many professional musicians. \n
