Stewart-Sanabria produces both hyper-realist “portraits” of everything from produce to subversive jelly donuts\, and full-scale\, cut-out charcoal on plywood drawings of contemporary people that she uses to create conceptual installations. A native of Massachusetts\, she received her BFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst\, and has lived in Knoxville since 1986. Organized by HMA.

DESCRIPTION:Girl Scout Art Museum Day \nCreative Connections: Color & Light!\nSaturday\, October 20\, 2018 \nRegistration extended through October 17th! \nGirl Scouts can earn art badges by participating in hands-on activities on this fun day. Learn about the visual arts while earning a Badge or Patch: \nDaisy: Art Museum Visit Fun Patch\nBrownie: Legacy –Artist – Painting Badge\nJunior: Legacy – Artist – Drawing Badge\nCadette: Art Museum Visit Fun Patch \nEach two-hour session includes a docent-led tour and a themed art activity program. Inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany’s stained glass masterpieces\, Girl Scouts will learn about S.T.E.A.M. (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art and Mathematics) as related to the stained glass works of art in the Louis Comfort Tiffany: Treasures from the Driehaus Collection exhibition. Through the discovery of color and light\, participants will explore the use of drawing and painting media to create an original work of art. DESCRIPTION:Artsy Tots will introduce toddlers between the ages of 2 and 3 to art and to the museum through artful short stories\, gallery play activities\, and an art activity. The program helps with color recognition\, fine motor skills\, hand-eye coordination and more! \nArtsy Tots classes are held on one Friday a month from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Class size is limited to 12 children and registration is required. Each class will have a unique theme. One adult chaperone is required for every two children. Dress for a mess! Questions?
