Huntsville, Ala –The Huntsville Museum of Art’s (HMA) Museum Academy is partnering with the Alabama Designer Craftsmen (ADC) to offer a free art demonstration day to the public on Saturday, January 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The art demonstrations will feature skilled artists in ceramics, recycled glass art, jewelry and fiber arts. All members of Alabama Designer Craftsmen, whether exhibiting or supporting, look to each other for inspiration and exchange of information to maintain high standards of design and craftsmanship. It is the goal of each member to promote an appreciation of the aesthetic value of crafts, as well as the utilitarian function they might serve. For information about the ADC, visit alabamadesignercraftsmen.com
“The demonstrators are renowned for their skills in their respective fields and are happy to pass along information and techniques to anyone who attends – children and adults,” remarked ADC member, Lynnette Hesser. “Questions are encouraged and works by the artists will be on display and available for purchase.”
The demonstrations will take place in the Museum Academy classrooms on the North Patio overlooking Big Spring Park.
