Happy wedding week to high school sweethearts Janie and Brandon! As part of our countdown to their wedding this weekend, we are sharing their story.
The first spark:
How did you meet?
Brandon and Janie met in high school. They were both heavily involved in the arts and became friends through the school’s theater and choir departments. They both needed a date to their senior prom, so they decided to go together as friends. Shortly after, they began dating, and the couple have been together ever since!
The adventure begins:
How did the proposal happen?
During their last year of college, Brandon and Janie planned a spring break trip to Savannah, Georgia. The trip was right around Janie’s birthday. While they were there, Brandon told Janie that he was surprising her with a couples photoshoot in downtown Savannah as a birthday gift. She had wanted nice photos of the two of them for a while, so she was thrilled to find out that he had booked the photographer and arranged everything. When they went to meet the photographer, Brandon told Janie she was running late. Suddenly, Brandon was down on one knee, and the photographer came out from hiding behind a tree. The location of the proposal was beautiful, and with no one else around, it was truly a special moment for the couple.
Plans are made:
Why did you choose the Huntsville Museum of Art for your wedding event?
Since both Janie and Brandon grew up in Huntsville, they knew they wanted to get married in town. They picked the Museum for their reception because of its proximity to the church where they will have their ceremony. They love the elegance of the space and its beautiful view of Big Spring Park.
A moment to last a lifetime:
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?
Brandon and Janie are looking forward to having a first look before the ceremony, dancing to the music played by Act of Congress at the reception, and being surrounded by their favorite people! They are excited to have their family and friends in town to celebrate.
