About the HMA Guild:
For over 50 years, the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild has been a valuable resource for the Huntsville Community and a proud supporter of the Huntsville Museum of Art. The purpose of the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild is to promote awareness, appreciation and knowledge of the visual arts. To that end, the Guild promotes education, supports exhibitions and helps fund acquisitions of art objects for the Huntsville Museum of Art. The Guild preceded the Museum and was formed to set the groundwork for a museum of art in Huntsville.
Mission: The dynamic members of the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild support and promote the Huntsville Museum of Art as the cultural arts center for our area through fundraising, volunteerism, and education. The Guild also builds appreciation for the vast richness of artistic expression among its members and the community.
Vision: To help the Museum achieve its full potential as North Alabama’s leading visual arts center and to bring people and art together for the betterment of our community.
Since its inception in 1964, the Guild has provided nearly $3 million in direct funding support to the Museum. Funds raised at the Guild’s 50th Anniversary Celebration enabled the Guild to commission a one-of-a-kind mixed media chandelier by renowned artist Ginny Ruffner which is part of the Museum’s permanent collection and displayed in the Richard & Roper room.
