Voices of Our Times is an annual series that brings people of note in the arts, academia, design, publishing and politics to the Huntsville Museum of Art for candid, in-depth discussions and presentations.
General Carns graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1959; the Harvard Business School, with Distinction, in 1967; and the Royal College of Defense Studies, London, in 1977. His career was as a fighter pilot, serving four tours in Europe and four in the Pacific. He flew 200 combat missions in the F-4 Phantom II fighter and was awarded the Silver Star. General Carns retired as Vice Chief of Staff, USAF, in 1994. General Carns has authored a number of articles and participated in numerous studies on current issues, including the critical role of a credible US nuclear deterrent, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Defense acquisition process.
General Carn’s presentation, The Terrorists of Today: Cyber Warfare, will be held at the Museum on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. and will include a talk and reception. Tickets are on sale now and only a limited number remain available.
