Sketching in the Galleries for High School Students (Grades 9-12)

The Huntsville Museum of Art is excited to announce a new education initiative for high school students. Sketching in the Galleries will provide a unique opportunity to introduce learning and engagement in the Museum galleries.

Explore visual expression through drawing in the galleries from works of art with the guidance of an artist/instructor. The sessions will meet once a month September through February on a Thursday from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Each session will focus drawing techniques/elements of art and an exhibition in the Museum. Admission and all materials are provided. If you have taken a prior sketching session, please bring your supplies with you. Space is limited! Advanced registration is required on a month-by-month basis. Visit hsvmuseum.org under Learn – Camps, Classes and Programs – Sketching in the Galleries for High School Students to register. Questions? Contact Laura E. Smith, Director of Education/Museum Academy at lsmith@hsvmuseum.org or 256.535.6372. More sessions coming in 2025.
