Huntsville, Ala. – Emmy Award winner, Jon Scott of Fox News Channel (FNC), will be the next speaker for the annual Voices of Our Times series on January 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. and will include a talk and reception at the Huntsville Museum of Art (HMA).  Tickets are now available and can be purchased at hsvmuseum.org.

Jon Scott is currently the anchor of Fox Report Weekend on the FOX News Channel and has been on the network’s news team since it was created, having joined two months prior to its launch. While working with FNC, he anchored the network’s coverage of September 11, 2001 for over eight hours. Throughout his time at the network, he has covered events like weather disasters, space shuttle launches, royal weddings, and even provided live coverage of the launch of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Prior to his time with FNC, Jon Scott was a correspondent for Dateline NBC, a reporter for Inside Edition and an Emmy Award recipient for his newswriting.

When asked about his upcoming visit to Huntsville, Scott said, “I’ve visited Huntsville a couple of times in the recent past and have been amazed at how much this relatively small city has to offer.  Huntsville has everything—except its own international cable news station.”

Voices of Our Times is an annual speaker series that brings people of note in the arts, academia, design, publishing, politics and sports to the Huntsville Museum of Art for candid, in-depth discussions and presentations.  Museum Executive Director Christopher J. Madkour established the Voices series a few months after his arrival in 2011 and it has since become a signature program at HMA with noted speakers including: Gloria Vanderbilt, Ali MacGraw, Carl Bernstein and Paul Finebaum to name a few.

“Museum benefactors were fortunate to meet Jon during our visit to New York in 2017,” remarked Madkour.  “Jon gave us an exclusive look at FNC and graciously took us on a behind-the-scenes tour of the day in the life of an anchor.  I’m now happy to have Jon back in Huntsville and am looking forward to his presentation at the Museum.”

Jon Scott’s presentation will be the second installment of the 2018-2019 Voices series.  The next two speakers will be civil rights activist, Ambassador Andrew Young, Jr., and international interior designer, Nina Campbell.

Scott continued, “I look forward to sharing some of my experiences and observations on the state of the cable TV news business as one of the Voices of Our Times.
