In this three-day workshop, students will complete a beautiful, fun portrait of their favorite fur baby! Working from your own photos, you will be guided every step of the way from the drawing stage, to the painting stage, and finishing off with the perfect background. Students will learn how to make a drawing from their photos, oil painting techniques that include textures and colors for fur, capturing expression and a likeness, being bolder with color, and adding a unique background to tie it all in.

Stephanie Weaver is based out of Huntsville, AL.  She paints realistic landscapes, still life, pet and children’s portraits with a preference of oils using her own method of combining an alla prima approach with the renaissance technique of applying thin glazes.

Stephanie is the founder of the Online Artist Community, Positive Painters. It is through this community that Stephanie envisions artists sharing experiences, sharing their art, and remove the tribal stigma of “artists are loners” in a positive and supportive environment.
