Huntsville, Ala – Did you know the Huntsville Museum of Art presents multiple exhibitions every day? Visitors can, on most days of the year, take in a wide variety of artistic mediums, genres, and works by many different artists—local, regional, and national. Currently, HMA is exhibiting five temporary shows which include folk art and fashions from New York City’s American Folk Art Museum; more than 80 photographs from its permanent collection by nationally-recognized artists such as William Christenberry, Chip Cooper, John Reese, and Kathryn Tucker Windham; 50 black-and-white photographs by members of the Huntsville
Photographic Society; and more than 20 permanent collection paintings, prints, photos, and sculptures created with the enduring traditions of this region in mind.

In addition, the Museum keeps on display year-round its silver Buccellati animals, the largest known collection of its kind, and top pieces from its American Studio Glass collection. Families may also enjoy the Stender Family Interactive Education Galleries including the ART LAB, providing hands-on activities which instruct on art’s basic elements, and A Walk Through Time, taking visitors on a journey through major events in art history with replicas of famous works of art.

-Down Home: Contemporary Southern Masters – Now through June 12 (FINAL DAYS!)
-Folk Couture: Fashion and Folk Art – Now through June 26 (FINAL TWO WEEKS!)
-William Christenberry: Time, Distance and Memory – Now through July 10
-Frozen in Place: Southern Photographs from the Collection – Now through August 21
-Huntsville Photographic Society 2016 Members’ Showcase – Now through August 21

Museum hours are: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m. The museum is closed to the public on Mondays and some major holidays. Special admission during Folk Couture is $12 for adult, non-members; $10 for military, teachers, and seniors (60+) with a valid ID; $5 for children 6 and up and students; and $8 per person for groups of 10 or more. Museum members and children 5 and under are admitted FREE. Thursday nights are $5 after 5 p.m.
