Museum announces Summer Studio Artworks camps and classes
Huntsville, Ala. – The Huntsville Museum of Art is pleased to announce that the Museum Academy will reopen the week of June 9, following temporary closure during the museum’s ongoing HVAC upgrade. Camps and classes will run from June 9 through mid-September. Please note that while the Museum Academy resumes programming, admissions to the museum galleries will remain closed through the end of June.
The Huntsville Museum of Art Academy will offer camps and classes for ages 4 through 14. Camps will include half-day options: Drawing, Cartooning and SCULPTacular. Classes will include ceramics, drawing, painting, multi-media, and jewelry making. Other classes include Art Sampler, Mudworks, Dips, Dabs & Dots, Things that Crawl, Wiggle & Roar, Creativity, Color & Composition and Saturday Parent/Child classes.
In June, the museum will offer several high school and adult classes. Adults can enjoy classes in ceramics, drawing, acrylic, oil and watercolor painting, Painting Glass with Transparency and Light in Watercolor, Watercolor: Landscapes, Drawing in Pencil & Charcoal, Stained Glass Basics, and Mixed Media Painting. In July and August, classes will include ceramics, drawing, watercolor, oil painting, Paint Like an Impressionist: Techniques in Acrylic or Oil, Watercolor Sketching: Yummy Things to Eat, Stained Glass Sun Catchers & Fan Lamp, Acrylics: Abstract Extravaganza and Expressive Portrait Drawing in Charcoal & Conté.
