Docent-Led, Public Tour – Encounters: Charles Ladson
Sunday, July 12 | 2 p.m.
Tour is included in admission.
Enjoy a public, docent-led tour through Encouters: Charles Ladson on the closing day of the exhibit. Encounters: Charles Ladson focuses on the accomplished paintings of this mid-career artist from Macon, GA. Ladson’s works mix conventional aspects of painting like texture, layering, perspective, transparency, and detail — to create images that evoke a sense of mystery and dreamlike reality. Like much Southern art, his paintings have a strong narrative component. Ladson received his BFA degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York and his MFA degree from the University of Georgia. His work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast, including the last Red Clay Survey at the Huntsville Museum of Art, where he won a Merit award.
