The Huntsville Museum of Art celebrates Youth Art Month with the 36th annual YAM exhibition showcasing artwork by young artists from North Alabama. The exhibition features nearly 200 works of art from kindergarten through grade 12 students from various area schools. In addition to the YAM exhibition, the museum will display the Juried Art Teachers’ Biennial, Congressional Art Competition, and VAA: Visual Arts Achievement Program District V Blue Ribbon Finalists exhibitions from March 12 to April 23.
Admission fees will be waived for all visitors on Sunday, March 12, the day of the exhibition’s opening. In addition, artist demonstrations will be held from 1 – 3 p.m., allowing visitors to learn about different art techniques as artists work in their selected mediums in the galleries.
“We are thrilled to showcase the exuberant works of art by the talented young artists of North Alabama,” said HMA Education Director Laura Smith. “This exhibition not only highlights the exceptional creativity of our youth but also emphasizes the importance of art education for children.”
