A Docent is a volunteer tour guide. The word derives from the Latin word docere, meaning “to teach.” Docents serve as a vital link between the public and the Museum. They facilitate learning by helping audiences of all ages understand and enjoy our permanent collections and traveling exhibitions. They also engage visitors in interactive experiences that give them a new appreciation for the visual arts.
Join Museum Docent’s for a public tour of The Red Clay Survey: 2017 Exhibition of Contemporary Southern Art in the lobby of the Museum.
