The Huntsville Museum of Art will be open on Independence Day!
HMA and PNC Bank are proud to offer free general admission to all active military personnel and their immediate families on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in celebration of Independence Day.
The Museum offers a discounted military rate continuously throughout the year, but are honored to further show appreciation on this national holiday to all branches of the military and those men and women who serve the country.
Celebrate your independence by viewing America’s history through art and artifacts from the Duty, Honor, Country: Highlights from the West Point Museum Collection, presented by PNC Bank. This will be the final week that Duty, Honor, Country is on display in Huntsville before all of the historical pieces are repackaged and shipped back to the West Point Museum on July 8.
Duty, Honor, Country is organized by the Huntsville Museum of Art and presents objects hand-selected by HMA curators that encompasses the history of the United States Military Academy at West Point, the military history of the United States Army, and the history of warfare. In addition to stunning artwork, the exhibition includes historical artifacts like Ulysses S. Grant’s West Point Academy diploma, General Patton’s cadet dress coat, and a captured British howitzer.
For those who wish to visit the Museum and receive the Independence Day free admission offer, the active duty military member must show his or her valid military identification card. The military members’ immediate family will be included in the free admission (one adult and up to five children under the age of 18).
