After having their wedding ceremony at Trinity United Methodist Church, Katie and Kevin Ader celebrated their special day with a reception at the Huntsville Museum of Art. The happy couple enjoyed a day with friends and family and made memories that will last a lifetime.

The first spark:

How did you meet?

I was getting my MFA in photography at the University of Memphis and Kevin was in Optometry School at Southern College of Optometry. We met at a minor league baseball game in Memphis, thanks to my sister, who was in the same class as Kevin at SCO.

The Adventure begins:

How did they propose?

As a photographer, Kevin knew how much I love to photograph beautiful views. Ever since we moved to Virginia, we had been talking about going to hike Sharp Top Mountain at the Peaks of Otter. On July 21, 2018, we finally went on our hike. After we reached the top and I finished setting up my camera equipment for the perfect shot, I turned around and he was on one knee proposing!

Why did you choose the Huntsville Museum of Art for your wedding event?

 Art and creativity have been my passion since I was a little girl. With a BFA in Studio Art and an MFA in Photography, celebrating our marriage at the Museum of Art seemed like the perfect fit.

A moment to last a lifetime:

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?

My favorite memory was walking down the aisle and seeing the love of my life standing there waiting for me. In that moment everyone else blurred away and I could see his smiling face with tears coming to his eyes, yet beaming with joy. It was the perfect moment and I will never forget it!

A venue to remember:

What was your favorite part of having your wedding event at the Huntsville Museum of Art?

 The beautiful view of the park just outside the floor to ceiling windows was breathtaking!
