The permanent collection of the Huntsville Museum of Art was dramatically enhanced in 2008 by the acquisition of the Sellars Collection of Art by American Women. This landmark gathering of historical works celebrates the achievements of over 100 talented female artists active between roughly 1850 and 1940.

The Museum has recently launched a project to commission hand-carved and gilded period reproduction frames for key works in this Collection. To date, 24 watercolors, oils and pastels have been transformed through the endeavor. Reframed will provide the public with an opportunity to encounter all of these works displayed together for the first time.
