Huntsville, Ala − The Huntsville Museum of Art’s Foundation Board is excited to bring back, for its second year, Wild@Art―a “fusion of the best of Southern culture plus sporting life plus tasty vittles (and just a teensy bit of alcohol.)” It will be held Thursday, August 22, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Museum’s Loretta Spencer Hall. Wild@Art will offer live music, wild game tasting, simulated clay skeet shooting, local craft beer and “moonshine margaritas,” Southern food, and a silent auction.
A highlight of the evening will be the auctioning of a rare autographed copy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Alabama author Harper Lee. The silent auction will also include original “artsy” duck decoys signed by Trent Richardson, Bo Jackson, Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, Jeff Skiles, and other artists and celebrities.
For music lovers, Blue Mother Tupelo will be performing. This Southern soul band that has been described as having “risen up from the dusty Delta lowlands and muddy bayou banks of Indianola, Mississippi, through the bluffs of Memphis to the mountains of east Tennessee” is composed of married couple Ricky and Micol Davis of Nashville, TN.
The event will also have an interactive portion, which was “wildly” popular at last year’s inaugural event. Guests will have an opportunity to test their aim in the infrared Clay Skeet Shooting on the outdoor stage off the back of the museum. Wild@Art guests will also enjoy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Lyn’s Gracious Goodness and an open bar with local craft beer, moonshine margaritas and wine. Tickets will also be sold onsite for a separate Moonshine Tasting.
Wild@Art tickets are $80 per person for Museum members and $100 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hsvmuseum.org or by calling 256-535-4350 ext. 208. Proceeds will benefit the Huntsville Museum of Art.
