Huntsville, Ala –The Huntsville Museum of Art (HMA) is excited to announce an upcoming Master Artist Workshop with award-winning Louisiana artist, Keith Andry. The workshop, Strong Design & Bold Strokes in Watercolor, will be given on August 16 -18, 2018 in the HMA Academy classrooms.
Andry is a nationally recognized watercolorist, juror and instructor. He is the recipient of numerous awards and has been listed in several national publications, including Who’s Who in American Art and American Artists of Renown. He has also been featured in American Artist and The Artist’s Magazine. His reputation has brought his works to many public and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
“I’ve been painting all of my life, selling my first painting at the age of six,” remarked Andry. “I grew up taking workshops with some of the best internationally-acclaimed watercolorists such as Rex Brandt, Millard Sheets, Robert E. Wood, Milford Zornes, Frank Webb and Edgar Whitney. I have combined a little something from each of these instructors to develop my own personal style, and am excited to share this knowledge with anyone eager to learn.”
Andry’s workshops have met with great success due to his warm willingness to devote himself entirely to the needs of his students. Those who have studied with him have observed that he approaches his workshops with the same demanding professionalism that he expects of himself and his work.
“My workshops are designed for beginners to all levels of advancement. A lecture, slide presentation and demonstration is given. Posters and visual aids are used to help convey basic design principles and working with color and values. The class is laid out with a simple step-by-step painting process.”
Seating for this Master Artist Workshop with Keith Andry is very limited. Register online at hsvmuseum.org or call 256-535-4350, extension 222. All classes will be held at the Huntsville Museum of Art in the Museum Academy classrooms located in downtown Huntsville at Big Spring Park.
