About Bettie Pardee:

Bettie grew up in both Los Angeles and Atlanta, but has now been a year-round resident of Newport, Rhode Island with her husband Jonathan for many years. An accomplished hostess and active community leader, her home, “Parterre,” provides the ideal setting for carrying on Newport’s tradition of gracious living.

Thanks in large part to her husband, who is a native of the “City by the Sea,” Pardee authored two books about Newport, Private Newport: At Home and in the Garden; and Living Newport: Houses, People, Style.  She is also an editor of PrivateNewport.com, as well as a garden furniture designer, national lecturer and authority on entertaining.

Bettie was recognized as an honoree for the second year on “The Salonniere 100: America’s Best Party Hosts,” and also served as the host and creative producer of the thirteen-part PBS series The Presidential Palate: Entertaining at the White House.
